About nit_
by Ines Lončar
nit_ was born from a longing I couldn’t ignore — a thread pulling me back to my hands, to beauty, to emotion.
I’m Ines, the founder of nit_ and a textile artist based in Croatia. Years ago, I ran a successful fashion brand known for its hand embroidery, featured across local lifestyle platforms. But eventually, something shifted. I no longer resonated with the story I was telling. So I stepped away — from fashion, from the spotlight, from creating altogether.
For a while, I worked outside of the creative world. But the silence was loud. I missed the ritual of making, the joy of crafting something from nothing, the softness of materials and the boldness of detail. Slowly, my hands found thread again — not for the body this time, but for the home, the wall, the table. And nit_ came to life.
The word ‘nit’ means thread — but also the invisible line that connects people, moments, memories. That’s what I create now: hand-embroidered tableware and tactile textile art for people who want to feel something. People who love to gather, who celebrate small beauty, who see the home as a living, emotional space.
Every piece is made by hand, using natural materials like linen, wool, and cotton. Each napkin, placemat, or stitched artwork is meant to be touched. Not just looked at. I make for those who want more than just decoration — they want feeling, curiosity, a spark of aliveness.
nit_ is bold, minimalist, poetic. It’s about being yourself. Hosting with heart. Living with ritual. And choosing beauty not just for special occasions, but for the everyday moments that connect us all.
Welcome to nit_. I’m so glad you’re here.
